European ski

With over 20 years of experience organising skiing & snowboard lessons, European Ski are based in one of our favourite resorts, Les 2 Alpes. Lessons are taught in groups of no more than 10 by a fluent English speaker. As with all our ski school partners, they’re dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment so you can maximise your snowsports experience.

resort bars

la folie douce

In the great outdoors, with a living backdrop of dancers, divas and DJs, LFD invites fun-seekers of all ages to share their unique mix of high-quality cuisine and high-altitude clubbing. You’ll find LFD in four of our resorts; Avoriaz, Alpe d’Huez, Val Thorens and Val D’Isere, and they are seriously not to be missed.

Bar 360

One of our favourite spots in the Alps is Bar 360 in Val Thorens. This après bar which starts the beats from 2pm and runs through till 6.30pm is the go-to spot for alfresco drinking, table dancing and plenty of house music. With the fresh mountain air in your lungs and at an altitude of 2368 meters you can expect for things to get very messy when big names such as Afrojack hit the decks. The disco ball decorated student mecca is just a comfortable green run away from home meaning you can get safely back in time for après après.

pano bar

This is altitude clubbing at its best. Based in Les Deux Alpes at 2600m, there’s always a crazy atmosphere at Pano. You can enjoy live music every day, with Djs and performers entertaining on the patio all winter long. They also have an infamous closing party in April.

smithys tavern

Smithy’s Tavern opened in Alpe d’Huez way back in 1996 and following their success, they opened in neighbouring resort Les Deux Alpes. They are a true all-rounder – well-known for excellent food, drink and of course, partying. We love working with the guys at Smithys to bring you themed nights, live bands and guest DJs.

coco rico

Originating in Val d’Isere, this brand of bars has now expanded to Tignes Val Claret. This season saw Wasteland Ski host the first ever non coco’s resident DJ takeover. This spot was smashed by Cirque Du Soul and Dazed during the Bath Snow trip.

don’t be surprised if you walk away with a giant toy unicorn or a cardboard cut-out of Bruce Forsyth!

famous first words

FFW was born while the creator Tim Warwood was living in the mountains during winter seasons. At first it was just with friends, but then it grew into hosting nights in pubs and now you can even find them at festivals. The format is simple so anyone can play,
and everybody gets involved – all you have to do is sing the first line of a well-known song. Think you’re up to it?

bongo’s bingo

Bongo’s Bingo is legendary. It has been sweeping the UK with its bingo madness for a few years now and we’re lucky enough to exclusively partner with them in the Alps. Helping us to deliver a truly unique experience and allowing our groups special access to UK events, it is always a pleasure to work alongside them. They are no doubt the most ridiculous but the most hilarious nights out – don’t be surprised if you walk away with a giant toy unicorn or a cardboard cut-out of Bruce Forsyth!

house of dinosaur

H.O.D. run big and bold bespoke events in the UK and Internationally. They specialise in immersive games, event design and providing wonderful personalities to host a wide range of events. It’s so much fun working with these guys, and they always bring something new to the game.

WE will be hosting a surprise set at this year’s El Dorado!

El dorado festival

If you can’t wait till next season for a snowsports family get-together, then we have the perfect solution for you, join us at El Dorado this July!

We are thrilled that for a FOURTH consecutive year we are partnering with Cirque du Soul, the pioneers behind El Dorado Festival to offer this product via ROAM our summer brand. Heading back to the epic grounds of Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire from the 5th-7th of July for another insane festival. Thinking back to last year’s El Dorado, highlights included epic music, unique entertainment, insane decor and the huge crew of Wasteland clients who took over the campsite! This year’s line-up is looking even better and we can’t wait to hit the festival with you.

House of Apres

We have been collaborating with House of Après for a couple of seasons now ever since we bonded over a mutual love of music and Apres.

Through our Future Sound initiative with them we’ve been giving student DJs within the Wasteland community a platform to have their mixes featured.

This season has seen a number of student DJ’s playing in resort during their holidays. We love seeing fresh talent coming through and whether it was warming up the crowd for huge DJ takeovers, dropping sick beats at mountain meals, or taking on apres at Pano they all smashed it!

don’t be surprised if you walk away with a giant toy unicorn or a cardboard cut-out of Bruce Forsyth!

Olfi

A new partner for this season, Olfi is a more reasonably priced competitor to other action cameras in the industry. With all of the same features and as high quality for half the price, they are the obvious choice for Wasteland groups looking to document every aspect of their trips. These cameras can withstand extreme environments including snow, water and even a pint of beer or two and Olfi offer a number of functional accessories so the cameras can be handled, clipped on and utilised to fit your needs.

Soundboks

Do you want to go big? Do you want to be known as the loudest club? And do you want to do both of these at every event whether in the UK or the Alps? Then you need a Soundboks speaker! If your plan is to disrupt the Alps (not after curfew in your accommodation mind) then these portable, rechargeable and quite frankly pretty sick speakers are the trip companion your club needs.
Wasteland Ski are proud to offer Wasteland groups an exclusive discount on Soundboks and their backpacks which allow you to strap the speaker on and take this baby riding with you so shredding can have just as many sick beats as apres!

Jibworx

Our partnership with the Jibworx team on events in the mountains was a great success once again and this years jams have been gnarlier than ever! The season saw Jibworx taking on the double header in the form of the VT and Tignes Takeovers back in December, keeping competitors from across the UK on their toes with park jams and judging from the AfterJam boys.

Prefitted

Let’s play a cheeky game of Would You Rather, we’ll go first.

Would you rather…

A) ARRIVE IN RESORT AND WAIT IN A LONG, COLD QUEUE AT THE HIRE SHOP TO HAVE YOUR KIT FITTED AT A PREMIUM PRICE?

OR

B) HAVE YOUR KIT FITTED BEFORE THE TRIP, BY EXPERTS, AT A LOCATION OF YOUR CHOICE, FOR CHEAPER?

If you chose A, you need to check yourself.

If you chose B, well done – you’re clever like us.

For those of you who are new to snowsports or not quite pro enough to have your own gear, hiring kit can be an expensive, time-consuming and unnecessary addition to your trip. So, to save you both time and money, we partner with a hire specialist here in the UK. Cleverly named Prefitted, the idea is that you get everything fitted pre-trip. Genius, right?!

The process is simple, professional and goes like this:

• Choose a time & location to have your kit fitted (usually on campus or somewhere convenient for all).

• Get kitted-out with helmets, ski’s, snowboard’s and any clothing you may need.

• Arrive in resort & collect your pre-fitted, ready to roll kit from the hire shop.

• Hit the slopes ASAP feeling super smug.

• We’re always striving to make your trip as easy and fun as possible and we’re proud to say we’re the only tour company who offer this service – another great reason to come away with us.

Retrofitted

The clue’s in the name…

Retrofitted have an unrivalled selection of genuinely vintage, unashamedly loud and quite frankly funky AF gear which will definitely help you make an impression at après!

Brought to you by kings of convenience Prefitted, they provide retro ski clothing rentals delivered straight to the mountains so you don’t have to take up precious space in your luggage transporting a onesie.

After all with a jam-packed social schedule and more fancy dress than freshers week you are going to need all the space you can get.

Expect ski jackets, salopettes and one-piece suits which were at the height of fashion during the 80s and 90s however in recent times have seen a revival in popularity. Their collection features brands including; Ellesse, Fila, Sergio Tacchini and O’Neill to name but a few.

Horsefeathers Clothing

Back in 1989 a small crew of friends in British Columbia were driven by the uniting theme of snowboarding. A few years later and Horesfeathers Clothing was born as they produced their first collection of clothing and outerwear. Not only do we love their collections, but we love their attitude because like us, they take great interest in their influence on the environment.

AfterJam

It’s no secret we’re a big fan of the AfterJam family. UK engineers of clothing and events, AfterJam was created with the aim of developing a lifestyle brand that seamlessly blends with the vibe of the mountain resorts and is devoted to living for the seasons.

Protect our winters

Wasteland Ski are proud to announce that we are now official partners of Protect Our Winters. The decision to sponsor this worthwhile cause was an obvious one, and through their vetted partners, we are giving our clients the chance to support their valuable work on protecting the future of outdoor & snow sports from climate change. The opportunity to donate to Protect Our Winters is available on all groups booking pages so the process of donating is as easy as possible.

If you haven’t heard about the effect that climate change is having on our glorious planet Earth then listen up, the signs are all around you and the planet needs your help!

In many ways the snowsports industry has gone from strength to strength since it began with improved technology and accessibility, however it’s impossible to ignore the changing climate when many resorts across Europe haven’t seen a full season of snow since the 80s.

If the world continues business as usual it’s predicted that by 2100, the overall snow cover in the Alps will decline by 70% and there will be almost no snow below 1,200 meters (the average height for ski resorts). Even though that may seem like a long way off, some of the lower alpine resorts have already been forced to close because of such poor conditions.

Here are a few rules which you can abide by while in resort. They may seem small, but they really do help to conserve the natural environment and reduce your carbon footprint.

  • If you smoke, invest in a pocket ashtray; if you don’t, call people out when you see them throwing cigarette butts off the lift.
  • Get a flask so you’re not buying single-use plastic.
  • Take your rubbish off the mountain with you.
  • Return your lift pass (as a rule, they’re recyclable).
  • Use the recycling bins in town.
  • Bring your own shopping bags to resort.
  • Use eco-friendly ski/board wax — anything that goes on your skis will be left behind on the mountains and trickle down into the lakes and surrounding ecosystems.

Papyrus

For the second consecutive season, Wasteland Ski have chosen to support the Charity PAPYRUS (Parents Association for the Prevention of Young Suicide).

PAPYRUS are a charity dedicated to preventing suicide among young people, they offer confidential help and advice to those who are contemplating suicide as well as anyone who may be worried about a young person.

In addition they also provide a support network for the friends and family of those affected by and suffering from mental health issues.

They have a 24 hour Hopeline which is free to call among other campaigns including actively visiting schools to help spread awareness and support.
This charity has done wonderful things and we look forward to continuing our work with them. Currently all Travel Collective trip goers are given the opportunity to donate towards this excellent charity via our online booking portal and we are delighted to have raised over £4,000 in total.

If your club are interested in running fundraising activities on behalf of Papyrus, Wasteland Ski would like to hear about them and offer support.
